This is error occurs on only some systems. It's a bit funny because it is easily avoided. When you read the license agreement, do what it says. Press enter, don't just cancel the window.
You are not out of memory. You downloaded and installed the "Partial Install" and you don't have VB5 and/or the OCXs required by GTACars. PLEASE: 1. Uninstall GTACars. 2. Download and install with the FULL 3.1 version.
You downloaded and installed the "Partial Install" and you don't have VB5 and/or the OCXs required by GTACars. You haven't fully installed GTACars (sometimes it takes two installs, if the first only performs a 'system update') Your copy of COMCTL32.OCX is old or missing. PLEASE: 1. Uninstall GTACars. 2. Download and install with the FULL 3.1 version.

Check that the STYLE is not READONLY. Go to the style file in Windows and RightClick->Properties->ReadOnly (unchecked).
Please send the following information so I can find what the common factor between the people having this problem is: Windows version (win95/win95a/win95b) Have IE4 installed? Have Office 97 installed? Have VB5 installed? Have Service Pack 3? Using partial install or full install? GTA is not running at the time? Occurs when saving? loading? first running? Not a big deal! Just delete the directory and remove the icon from the Start Menus. Don't bother worrying about the System DLLs and Registry or what Add/Remove programs says.
This has to do with a fault in VB where it ignores when a Windows user has configured a custom or unusual font size, so that the dpi is different. Check that your Windows_Settings_ControlPannel_Display_Settings. I recommend you set to FONT SIZE SMALL and use a 800x600 desktop. (although this is not required like in GTACars 2) |
